Article-new, Articles, Lifestyle, Mind-Spirit, Purpose

You may have noticed a slight shift to the way things look around here at Ben Greenfield Fitness – *ahem* – Ben Greenfield Life.

Yep, you read that correctly…

…I've rebranded.

See, several months ago, in an article entitled “Vision,” I shared with you my personal vision for the next several years, along with some big changes you can expect ahead. Then, just a few weeks ago, I shared with you my new life's purpose (not to be all mysterious or anything like that, but you can just go read that article if you're curious, and also check out this new discovery of mine, “Ikigai 2.0” e-book, for more elegantly nailing down your own life purpose).

And now, today, I want to shift to my role as Mr. High-Falootin', Suit-Wearin' CEO and tell you about what has changed here at the old Ben Greenfield Fitness and the new Ben Greenfield Life. Problem is, I still feel more like a sixteen-year-old curious, adventurous, horny, audacious lover-of-life than I do a stale, buttoned-up executive (I've probably forgotten how to even put on a suit, and tend to get quite fidgety in meetings and boardrooms). So, perhaps we'll leave behind the CEO piece for now and instead say that I'm just a human being sharing with you the next evolution of our journey together: a human being who is constantly discovering new and inspiring ways to optimize your mind, body, and spirit; finding interesting and enchanting people to interview and introduce to you; producing compelling, often unconventional, outside-the-box information to make your life better; and then sharing it all with you so that you can live your fullest and most impactful life possible.

OK, now I'm rambling. So let's jump in…

…why Ben Greenfield Life?

Why Ben Greenfield Life?

In that “Vision” article I alluded to earlier, I shared the fact that, although my current passions and interests in the realm of health will likely remain deep-seated in me and I'll still be geeking out on optimizing the human machine, creating compelling nutritional formulations for my supplements company Kion, and continuing to invest in and advise for companies in the health, fitness, nutrition, biohacking, functional food, and wearables spaces, I will no longer be pigeon-holing myself solely into these health and fitness-related areas.

Instead, my calling and deep desire is to branch out (as you may have witnessed me already doing to a certain extent) into topics such as psychology, religion and spirituality, family and parenting, life-hacking, economics, politics, and beyond.

See, there are many, many other aspects of “living a good life” that I'm supremely curious about and that I want to explore by ramping up my own knowledge via immersion in books, research, conferences, and other forms of education; many compelling and interesting guests outside of the domains of health and fitness who I want to interview on my podcast; and many stages I want to stand upon to present inspirational messages that reach far beyond simply optimizing one's body and brain.

Because of this, there were some significant changes that I anticipated needing to make in my own personal and professional development. For example, I realized that I needed to become a better, more dynamic, more inspirational speaker (I look up to and admire guys like Tony Robbins, Brendan Burchard, and Bo Eason in that respect) who can rock stages in a less didactic and more motivational way than I currently carry myself on stage, along with expanding my speaking topics platform currently presented here.

I also realized that I needed to broaden my personal Rolodex to be able to begin reaching out to supremely interesting podcast guests who go beyond scientists, physicians, physiologists, and athletes—including world leaders, presidents, and other great thinkers, philosophers, politicians, economists, and inventors (folks such as Ray Dalio, Jordan Peterson, Naval Ravikant, Richard Branson, Oprah, Tony Robbins, Ray Kurzweil, Elon Musk, and more).

And along those same lines, I knew I would need to make significant alterations to my brand, including choosing a name that was a bit more expansive and all-encompassing than BenGreenfieldFitness.com (à la BenGreenfieldLife.com) so that I am no longer pigeonholed into the arena of pure fitness or nutrition or biohacking. Additionally, I felt that I could use a few updates to my own appearance and personal brand to represent myself as much more than just a cowboy who runs around half-naked, clad in spandex, riding bicycles, hauling sandbags, and throwing spears, and to instead progress into the role of sage and mentor. After all, it's been a wild and adventurous ride in the health, sports, and fitness world for the past twenty years, but there are many, many other avenues I desire and have been called to explore, and I may need to put on my big boy pants to do so.

Summary

Movement and nourishment? I'll continue to teach you what we humans need most.

Supplements, brain-boosting compounds, and natural health solutions? I got you covered.

Kettlebells, breath work, saunas, and ice bathing? You'll discover everything you need to know.

Meditation, journaling, prayer, worship, faith, purpose, meaning, and fulfillment? That will be a definite focus.

Faith, family, and parenting? Heck, that's my purpose at this stage in my life, so absolutely expect fresh content on those topics.

A wide range of podcast guests teaching you about everything from the latest longevity hack to how to survive the next zombie apocalypse? Yep, that too.

So strap yourself in and get ready for a wild ride. I promise that if you stick with me, you're going to experience everything that a magnificent and magical life on this planet has to offer, and much, much more.

Oh, and one last thing: you may have noticed a brand spankin' fancy new logo. There's a story that tells too. In launching the Ben Greenfield brand beyond fitness and into the diverse territories of holistic living, we created a mark that conveys the impact of my work to date and incites the energy of what’s to come. The new logo takes the “G” in Greenfield and reimagines it as the primary creative element, communicating the holistic nature (subtle circle), ingenuity and healthy movement (arrow) of my
offerings, and inspires you to remember the gift of life and your abilities (upward direction). The logo mark itself has three “pieces”:

And yes, if you look closely, you'll also see both a bow and a cross embedded within the logo elements, with bows and arrows representing nature, hunting and even family and a quiver full of arrows (children), along with a cross that is representative of faith. So there's plenty hiding in there. I hope you dig it.

OK, that's enough from me for now. What do you think of the new rebranding? What are your questions, thoughts, or feedback? What do you want to learn from me here at Ben Greenfield Life? What are you curious about that you want to see me research, create, or discover? Leave your comments below. I read them all.

I take a break from all forms of media for the past year or two, I come back, and you have a beard AND rebranded, what the hell happened!

In all seriousness, good for you. Happy that you are fulfilling your life’s purpose as you see fit. Thanks for the years of great information and here’s to years to come!

Hi Ben! I think this is fantastic, I am so excited about what lies ahead! I am a relatively new listener, and I have been inspired by your approach and grateful for the insights and support in living a healthier, more conscious, more spiritual life.

I live in London and was gutted to see that you will be here when I’ll be in Austin! I am planning to get in touch about that :-)

Looking forward to all that is yet to come! Thank you for your groundedness and wholesomeness in a sea of ego.

  3. Caroline says:

Hi Ben. Thank you for your content and super guest interviews over the years. I have learned much and have been able to improve my physical health as well as guide my family and friends. I appreciate your rebranding and see it as your willingness to be bold in pursuit of following your heart. Bravo!!! I felt your shifting ‘brand’ listening to your podcast even year ago.
I would love to share thoughts on love, life, living, humility, acceptance and oneness from my evolution of a somewhat tortuous past to true love and happiness. My desire to share a bit of this story is for you to take portions of interest and deliver it to a wider audience. This thought is mainly for the purpose of connecting that which may divide us.

A great vision, very well thought out, and makes sense given your stage in life. Looking forward to learning from you.

  5. Stephanie C says:

Your desire to evolve personally and professionally along with your willingness to share your knowledge are two of the many reasons I follow you. I’m at a similar stage in life – 46-year-old mom raising a family, looking to deepen my faith, find my purpose, upgrade my health, and maximize my life. So, I look forward to continuing this journey with you! Thank you for bringing us along!!

  6. Tracey Epstein says:

  7. Adri says:

Love it! What a privilege to be doing life with the Greenfields!

  8. Brian says:

So funny some close-minded people need to announce that they are leaving. Just stop following. Lol. But why get mad if Ben explores other areas? If you don’t want politics or religion then don’t consume those types media. Just stick to Ben’s health and fitness articles and podcasts. Nobody is forcing anybody to read or listen to every single article or podcast that Ben puts out. It’s a buffet of awesome goodies. You pick and choose what you want.

Anyways, congrats on this rebranding Ben! Though I may not consume much of your political stuff, I will surely dig more on the spiritual side of things on top of your ever awesome health and fitness materials. Don’t worry about the naysayers, they will still secretely follow you. Lol

  9. JC says:

Well done Ben. Honestly and openness is what the world needs. I am not a hunter or big on religion, But I still listen to what you have to say with an open mind. If you want only meatheads following you just keep with bicep training and peptide

  10. Maite Lozano says:

Congratulations, Ben! I love this new .logo, and love even more what it represents. I took “longevity blueprint” course with you and have followed you ever since. I am sure Bengreenfieldlife is going to be full of everything we need for a fulfilling life

  11. Kami Wiss says:

An ever evolving, revolving spiritual soul cannot be contained, locked or fixed as transformation is continuously inevitable to those who quest, hunger and thirst for inner Truth,Light and to be of divine service

  12. Ghengis says:

    Ben,

Congrats on the re-brand. I believe it will go well for you. I’ve been a reader/listener/follower of your material for a decent amount of time… I have a book on my Kindle from 2006! Whenever I have a question about anything fitness or health related, your online material is the first place I go for ideas. The way you research and your ability to relate is uncommon.

I appreciate how you have evolved over time. You are rebranding but you have shifted your focus before and stayed relevant. Some are commenting that they are “leaving” your platform, and it is definitely their right, not everyone can stay.

I look forward to more content, stories, updates, round-ups and whatever else you want to share. Faith, parenting, health, passion, reality, and more, bring it on!

  13. Holly says:

I love your work and vision. I love that you stand behind faith and family first and foremost. You are so brilliant. Thank you for all you share! Congratulations on your rebranding!…. it’s just what the world needs right now. 💙🙏🏻

  14. Matt says:

I’m excited to see this growth! Looking forward to hearing more about how to be a better parent etc while staying fit :-)

  15. June says:

ohhh my gosh, I love you! you continue to amaze me. your parents should be very proud of you and how you work so hard to stay so well rounded! you love the Lord, contribute to society thru donations and volunteering and bring us info we can’t get anyplace else!!!!

it’s obvious your plans will be successful because of your masterful planning! xo

  16. Adele Engel says:

Wow! Love it and can’t wait to continue following your life’s grand pursuits that open up brilliant opportunities for all of us to live a brighter and well-informed life. The change from “Fitness” to Life” has been implied for a long time…..it was obvious. Nice to have it said. Fitness is limiting to your work and limits your audience. Congratulations.

  17. Autum says:

Cool rebrand! Love it. Been following you for over ten years since my old triathlon days. It’s been great to follow your evolution. I have learned a lot from what you share.

  18. staff32 says:

I’ve been a faithful follower and listener since 2011.

Sounds like a big mistake getting into religion and politics. Religion is personal. Your relationship with a higher power is something personal. Spiritual belief is not something that should be marketed.

Politics is guaranteed to alienate 50% of your audience no matter which side of the aisle you lean towards.

I don’t have kids. I don’t want to listen to how someone 40 years old raises their kids. People that have kids don’t want someone telling them how to raise their kids. There is no 1 formula for raising kids that is the best.

You got a good thing going. Don’t water it down with topics people already get information overload on.

STick with anti-aging, training, optimizing your body, mind and life. . YOu are a professional in that realm and there are so many things happening and changing you will not run out of content anytime soon.

Stick with peptides over parenting. Fasting over fatherhood – Racimycin over religion

    1. You have fun with the whole fasting and rapamycin thing. I'll be doing that kind of too…and worshiping God with my kids. ;)

    2. tim says:

Agreed! When I read that politics would become a part of this, I thought ‘this is probably goodbye, Ben.’

  19. Kathy Putta says:

    Ben,

As a 67 year old granny nanny, a retired physical education teacher, gymnastics instructor and swim instructor, I have greatly benefited from your research and experimentation in the area fitness. But, for me it has all be done been done to be able to be more in touch with my spirituality and authentic self. I really feel you are moving in the right direction. What good is all you do if you are not creating stronger bonds and experiences with your family, friends and colleagues? I can totally relate in your article regarding Ego, and putting all of your fitness activities in front of your daily life.

I look forward to this expansion of your already impactful foundation to becoming more of who you are in this very vast world. I wish you and your family the best and I look forward to my continued growth through your podcast, books, and writings.

I also must ask, is there anyway I can purchase Puff, the Magic Dragon by Pay Pal Apple Pay or a check? I have mentioned it few times before, that my grandson really wanted Puff and would love to do the art class on the 19th with River.

    Keep up the great work!

    Kathy

  20. So happy for this shift, Ben! This is one reason I’m happy I got the name “Holistic Hilda” b/c there’s SO much more to wellbeing than lifting weights and getting the sunshine (though I love both of these). Can’t wait to see what’s next for you, the brand, and the world!

  21. Mike says:

    and i’m out…

  22. Dan Hintz says:

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! In particular I share many of the same values you do including your faith. I’ve been a free wheeling entrepreneur for most of my life and have the support of a tight knit forum group (EO/YPO) however my (and several of my peers) business has been under significant strain with the events of the last two years. Consequently, I’ve allowed my circumstances to deprive me of some of the joy and vitality in life. I would love to join a community of like minded individuals where we can share and grow together.
Please let me know how I can best plug in and if there is a cost. I’ve just turned 60 and want whatever time God grants me to be as vital and meaningful as possible!

  23. GK says:

    Cant WAIT!!!!!! congrats!!!!!

  24. Tom says:

    love it :-) well said

  25. Jim says:

A great vision, very well thought out, and makes sense given your stage in life. Looking forward to learning from you.

  26. STEPHEN MCCAIN says:

You have been splitting hairs for a long time brother, Forge ahead and expand yourself. I look forward to seeing you shine!

  27. Kevin says:

Sounds like you’re broadening your horizons and increasing the scope of of what you’ll be researching and reporting on. I think it’s a natural evolution and I’m excited for what the future holds. Congratulations on this next stage of the journey!
