Publisher's summary

Children are a true blessing.

Yet, parenting them can be fraught with frustration, confusion and angst—often accompanied by a constant gnawing doubt in the back of our mind about whether we’re truly giving our children everything they need in life for happiness, success and impact.

How do we educate? How do we set rules? How do we discipline? How do we manage health? What should a child eat? How should a child exercise? How do we know how much presence, attention and love is needed and when and how to give it? How do we avoid making the same mistakes our parents made with us? Perhaps most importantly, how do we raise strong, creative, free-thinking, resilient human beings who will grow up self-actualized, happy, successful and fully equipped to make this world a better place? And how do we do it without losing or compromising our entire life, health, career, productivity, hobbies, and friends in the journey of parenting?

These questions, and many others, are why the world so desperately needs a parenting book right now—a manual for growing a baby, raising a child and fostering an adolescent that is not set in vague theories or unproven ideas, but rather, a manual steeped in practical knowledge and deep wisdom from the parenting trenches, with all the proven habits, rituals and routines of some of the most successful parents in the world.

Boundless Parenting is different from any parenting book you’ll ever hear. This book contains personal stories, anecdotes, examples, advice and wisdom from 37 parents ranging from single divorcees to grandparents to celebrities to entrepreneurs to pastors to teachers to survivalists and beyond. In each chapter, Ben Greenfield interviews a unique parent or set of parents about the highly specific, practical and personal details of their parenting journey, including the way they educate, discipline, manage time, develop presence, love and ultimately raise amazing, self-actualized and flourishing children.

You can flip to any chapter to get started or continue on your parenting journey, but by the time you’ve delved into the helpful and practical advice from each parent, you’ll be fully prepared to tackle raising a baby, a toddler, a child, a teen, and a grown human being who has everything they need for an optimized life.

Excellent book!

First off, I love how Ben reads this himself! I follow this author closely, and everything he puts out is in-depth and easily digestible. I have been waiting for him to deep dive into this topic, and he delivered above and beyond!
This book has so much dense amazing and helpful content. I am excited to start organizing and implementing some of these ideas. Thank you BG!

Very good

When you listen to this, you have to go into it knowing you’re not gonna agree with everything everyone says and that’s okay. The point is that there’s a ton of wisdom here. Thanks for putting it all in one place

Thank you for this!

I love the diversity of parenting styles and this book has been extremely informative. I have learned many things from it which I would like to start implementing in my own family. And also feel validated in different values and beliefs that I thought I might be the only one parenting that way- but this was extremely beneficial overall. Thank you

Painful

Typically I prefer/enjoy when the authors narrate their own books. Michael Pollen, Graham Hancock are fantastic to listen to. Not Ben, or his wife.

This will be a book I need to read myself, the narration is painful to listen to. I only made it 1.5 hours into the audible before deciding I couldn’t listen anymore. Ben talks about how much of a speed reader he is. Well folks, he’s a speed narrator too.

On top of the poor narration, it’s overly inundated with religious talk, in my opinion.

I do applaud the effort and believe it’s probably a great resource, as is all of Ben’s work, just not something I’ll be able to listen to for 26 hours.
