Hi Ben. What is your advice/opinion on eating raw vs roasted nuts (combined with oats or other foods for example) whilst considering the phytic acid effects on digestion of other minerals? Which of the two is the overall winner?

    1. Soaked and sprouted is best! Raw still high in phytic acids and roasted can be oxidized. Here's a handy little guide for you: https://greenfieldfitnesssystems.com/soak-time/

Woah I had never heard that pickles suppress appetite. It makes sense though–recently, I got Korean pickled cucumber slices and would take one when I'm starving but trying to wait till later to eat dinner, and have been surprised at how I'd suddenly not be hungry after one or two slices!

    1. I'd avoid peanut butter. It is high in afflatoxin mold and lectins!

Hey Ben! Any thoughts on if you should choose raw almond butter or not?

    1. raw almonds will have fewer free radicals and leached minerals than roasted.

  9. Paul says:

This was very helpful. Almond butter is a much healthier alternative to peanut butter? Interesting tip about what to look for in pickles. Was turned onto McClure's pickles and I think they would pass the "ben" test. Will look for some of these items the next time I food shop. Thanks for the tips.

    1. yes, almond butter much better than peanut butter.
