New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!

Book – The Alexander Technique: I just read a great book called “The Alexandar Technique” – which really has helped me release lots of tension and stress I didn't realize I was holding in muscles and ligaments. It was so good that I recorded a few “audio cues” for myself to put on my audio player for when I'm walking, making coffee, standing, etc., and you can download the quick 3-minute audio here:

Toy – Pso-Rite. Psoas muscle tightness is a *huge* source of hidden back pain in many, many individuals. The psoas (pronounced so-as) is your core muscle and an integral aspect of a centered and functional body. As a major player in back pain, knee injuries and tight hip sockets, it is often the exhausted psoas that disrupts your range of motion, as well as digestion and bladder functioning. But because the psoas muscle is the most complicated muscle in the body, it can be very hard to “massage”. It connects the lower body to the pelvis, lower body to the upper body (lower lumbar spine) and the pelvic area to the lower lumbar spine.     Ben, are you using 20 or 40 gm collagen daily? Paragraph above lists both. Also, since noninflammatory, do you count this toward total daily protein intake?

    Do you think that the Xero TerraFlex shoes would be tough enough for an OCR? Been looking and cannot find a good pair that are zero drop, though some of the Innov8 X-Talons come close at only 3 mm.

    1. Yes, but you’ll just want to make sure that your foot is well conditioned because it is a pretty minimalist shoe.
