Is Aluminum Foil Healthy?

Joan says: She often uses aluminum foil to cook things or reheat food. Would you use it?

How To Measure Your Body Voltage

Mike says: Is there a way to quantifiably measure the need for grounding? For instance if you had a long flight from Africa or Asia and then spent a bunch of time using electronics, could they just go outside barefoot for a couple minutes to get sufficient electrons to counter act the trip? Or conversely, if someone was playing outside all day and then spent a few minutes at their computer before bed, would they undo all the good they had built up?

How To Do Kettlebell Yoga

Devi says: She just listened to episode #302 where you talked about Kettlebell Yoga. She searched and couldn't find any references to it. Could you share the routines? The sun salutation routine and any others your recommend.

In my response I recommend:

Great episode as always, but going right to the very end, the iTunes review mentioned Click and Clack, the National Public Radio hosts of Car Talk. They are from Massachusetts, not New York, but you made a valiant attempt at their accents. :-)

    1. Fred says:

I am replying to myself, to tell you that I just ordered from harrys.com by using the link in the transcript. Do you have an ad on your website somewhere? I did not see it. I wanted to use your discount code because I know they track this stuff, and I heard about them from you.

      1. Thanks Fred! We usually just add it to the show notes of the podcasts that they sponsor. Like this episode https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/2015/01/305-k… But basically you get $5 off when you use discount code “ben”.

Just took my kettles to the park and did variation of the routine described here. Some other additions: Chair-pose thrusters: sit in chair pose with arms extended out and up holding a kettlebell until you can't maintain posture. Bring it to the chest and then press upward as you stand upright (like a thruster) and do it slowly. In addition to divebombers, I did superslow pushups in between downward dogs. I combined swings with a slow squat: toss and flip the kettle on the swing, catch it at the chest, stabilize, then drop down slowly into a squat. Another good one: stand in tree pose while doing bottoms-up one-arm overhead presses. It's a beautiful day here in Florida, so I took shavasana under the sun on the soft grass. Took care of my strength, power, flexibility, vitamin d, earthing/grounding, and stress-relief needs in just about 40 minutes.
