Can you really feel years younger and make unexplained symptoms vanish with the click of a button — the “Airplane Mode” on your cell phone?
Investigative health journalist Nicolas Pineault used to think this all sounded like something only crazy people wearing tinfoil hats would say.
But the overwhelming amount of independent scientific evidence linking electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from wireless technologies with increased risks of cancer, infertility, insomnia, and depression sure has the uncanny ability to change a man’s mind. His new book “The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMFs: How to Fix Our Stupid Use of Technology” is a simple and unconventional book that will teach you exactly how to reduce your exposure to this brand new 21st-century pollution without going back to the Stone Age.
In it, he covers…
-What your smartphone, your wifi router and your microwave oven have in common (page 9)
-Why policymakers and scientists all worldwide don’t agree about whether EMFs are dangerous or not (page 21)
-Is Electro-Hypersensitivity as popularized in the TV show “Better Call Saul” real? Or is it all psychological? (page 62)
-Why carrying a cell phone in your pocket can harm your fertility (201 studies prove it) (page 72)
-The 1-click fix to reduce cellphone EMFs by 84% (page 142)
-What is safer? Speakerphone, earbuds or a Bluetooth earpiece? (page 155)
-The #1 worst source of EMF radiation at home (page 160)
-Why baby monitors are worse than smartphones, and better alternatives (page 208)
It’s true. The jury is still out about whether cellphone radiation is the new smoking or just a temporary scare. But why take chances?
Nicolas Pineault is a health journalist who has published more than 1,500 online articles through a daily newsletter called Nick & Gen’s Healthy Life. In 2017, he authored this unconventional book endorsed by top health authorities such as Dr. Mercola, a book that combines common sense and humor to tackle the very serious topic of electromagnetic pollution and its effects on human health.
During our discussion, you'll discover:
-The NO/ONOO (nitric oxide/peroxynitrite) cycle and how research by Dr. Martin Pall shows us why chemicals, heavy metals, mold toxins, sugar and junk food, and a bunch of other inflammatory factors each contribute to increasing our sensitivity to EMFs, (and vice-versa)…[10:00]
-How stimulating a pathway called the “NRF2” pathway can help calm down this cycle and make you less EMF sensitive…[23:00]
-EMF shielded clothes, and why Nicolas is now convinced that they actually work…[25:50]
-How you can reduce your phone's radiation by 80% by using just 3G instead of 4G/LTE…[33:45]
-How a handful of meta-analyses shatter the skeptics' beliefs that EMF's do nothing to human, animal and plant biology…[38:55]
-Why you shouldn't hold a cell phone in your hand (and what to use instead)…[44:00]
-Why you need to be very careful with grounding mats and earthing mats, and a supplement to take at night before you ground or earth…[49:45]
-The mineral magnetite that is found in the body of birds, humans and other animals, and how it reacts with EMF…[57:55]
-The importance of metal-free inks and natural pigments in tattoos…[62:25]
-Whether or not bluetooth is an issue compared to Wifi and cell phones…[66:40]
-And much more!

Earthing, (also known as “grounding” ), is a prolonged contact with the subtle and natural electrical energy of the Earth’s surface, resulting in the discovery of major health benefits, including the reduction of inflammation and pain.Earthing or grounding products that used inside, is as simple as walking or sitting barefoot outside and/or working, relaxing or sleeping inside connected to an Earthing / Grounding system that transfers energy from the earth into the body.
Has anyone used the qlink pendant for EMF? https://www.shopqlink.com/
My Samgung S8Plus does not list “3G” or “4G”. If anyone else is wondering about this, I called my provider and they said:
“GSM” is 2G….. “HSPA” is 3G….. “LTE” is 4G.
yes it is correct.I had a wifi dongle it also had the same names
Great podcast and information! Is there any merit to products that claim to “neutralize” the EMF effects rather than blocking them? One I found is linked below. This seems like an interesting solution as my whole house is tied to the WiFi for home automation, and turning off the WiFi is really a last resort for me.

Hey Soly, what I said below — these devices such as chips, pendants and other “EMF-harmonizing” gizmos have shown some promise reducing symptoms in very sensitive patients, but I haven’t seen evidence that they are completely cancelling out the biological effects of EMFs. Until I see better science being done (if someone can prove that a certain chip nullifies the VGCC activation from EMFs that Dr. Pall has demonstrated), I recommend to 1) eliminate the source 2) reduce time of exposure and create distance 3) consider an EMF-reducing case such as Safe Sleeve or Defender Shield and then 4) use such a device which might help reduce sensitivity and some biological effects. It’s your last line of defense, so to speak.
Do you have any thoughts about the use of orgonite as a form of EMF protection?

i came across a device called vivobase , https://vivobase.com/. They claim to protect from EMF exposure, do you know anything about it?

SBM also claims that apricot seeds will kill you and that vaccines are completely safe. The vaccine argument always baffles me. The reason we vaccinate is because the risk is small and the benefit is great. Vaccines aren’t perfect. They have a failure rate, and people have adverse reactions. I put people who use the word “safe” in the same category as people who use the words “always” and “never.” I’m not saying that EMF is killing us, but SBM tends to just parrot mainstream on every single issue.
Guy, I couldn’t have said it better. It sometimes looks like SBM and other “debunking” websites main goal is to tell everyone why mainstream ideas are right, and why everyone else is a quack. Their articles on EMFs are cherry picked and don’t even talk about the latest science on VGCCs, the NTP study, the Ramazzini study, etc.
I’ve seen some test of the smartphone cases and the best results was with the RF Safe brand. Also it is VERY important how you use your phone with the case. You should always point your phone with the shield on your body because the radiation multiples on the side where the shield isn`t.
trying to play podcast on my laptop plays for a seconds then stops???
Eva, on the website, or are you using something else to listen? I haven't noticed any issues on my end with playback on the website.
My favorite cell phone hack is to have the phone on airplane mode with just the WiFi on. WiFi strength is an order of magnitude less powerful than cellular and most of our phone usage can be done over WiFi these days (including text messaging in most cases). If I’m out and about then I enable cellular and turn off WiFi (you don’t want the WiFi receiver hunting when there’s not going to be any viable connection as that increases radiation energy – not to mention wastes the battery). I only turn on Bluetooth if I’m actively using it and then turn it off again.
Note; Apple in all their wisdom decided that “turning off” WiFi and Bluetooth in the control center would do absolutely nothing other than disconnect you. The receivers are still active in the background so they can “do cheeky things”. You need to go into settings to actually turn them off. However, *if* you have airplane mode enabled, then one or two presses of the buttons in control center *will* properly turn them off. You need to make sure you see a grey icon with a diagonal line through it rather than the icon displaying in white (disconnected but still on) and blue (on and connected).
Hey Dave, thanks for sharing, good tips.
I’ve heard that from multiple sources about the iPhone latest update, but my EMF meter shows me otherwise. When the icon becomes white (disconnected but still on) I read zero EMF emissions. I’m wondering if I’m missing something or if everyone has been repeating this info without actually double checking the facts.
Sir Paul Chek recommends the Aries Defender. Where does that fit into this conversation? Is it useful and worth the $150?

Hi Nicolas,
I am trying to decide between a safe sleeve, defender shield or RF case for our iphones. Are they all about the same level of protection or in your opinion, is one better?
Also, what would you recommend for a family who lives in a small apartment with a music studio inside? I want to eliminate as much EMF as possible but wonder what can be done when we have a lot of equipment? We are wiring all our devices and will turn off wifi to the PC/mac computers but what else should we do? We do have a geoclense harmonizer. I have heard there is a USB router grounder but I can’t find it online. Do you know of something like this?
Thank you!
Hey Nicole,
Haven’t tested the RF case, but heard good things from both Defender Shield and Safe Sleeve. Defender shield is arguably of higher quality, hence the higher price point. Both have great testing results.
I’d say — put all your electronics on a power strip and turn it off when not in use.
Hey thanks for another great episode. What do you think of the use of electric razors for grooming? Should I avoid them all together and just go manual?
Hey Connor, electric razors do emit large amounts of magnetic fields and electrical fields, but the time of exposure is very short. I would worry about your exposure to cell phones, wifi routers and multiple other sources before thinking about your razor.
If you’re extremely sensitive (electro hypersensitivity, EHS) and feel sick when using the razor, then the answer would be — avoid all sources of EMFs if you can help it.
Great episode! I am EMF sensitive and I feel like concussions may have worsened my condition because of the mitochondria damage. That being said I find that the biosonic encoder helps reduce my symptoms. I also have a biogeometry ring but I can’t say if it helps or not.
Thanks Alvin! It’s very common in research around electro hypersensitivity (EHS) to see people who develop the condition after PTSD, brain trauma or other serious life-threatening events.
It’s stupid that Americans only talk about iPhones, when it has been measure repeatedly (from model to model) to be one of the most radiating phone there is. And this is in actual lab measurements, by a trusted, independent third party – not the manufacturer’s own ratings.
You can find the latest results from Connect (GER) in the Strahlungsbestenliste :
http://www.connect.de/filedownload/documents/1186…
Look for the line: normierter Strahlungsfaktor/SAR-Wert (-/W/kg)
You can find phone models that have a *effective* and *measured* radiation 1/10th of that of a modern iphone.
So, if you care about your health… change your iphone to something less dangerous.
Hey Cambiador, unfortunately “SAR” means nothing — it’s a measure of how much a phone can heat your head, not a measure of biological effects. All cell phones are pretty much equally bad, but the iPhone might arguably use a higher power output and expose you to higher biological effects as well.
My electrical box is in my room. Just flicking them off before bed probably easier than going around unplugging everything? Also, I’ve unplugged this stuff a few times in past week and my sleep seems ridiculously better! Wake up feeling refreshed af.
Hey Aydin, it’s definitely a good idea to turn off the circuit break to your bedroom altogether. Glad you’re reporting better sleep, this is a common side effect of reducing electrical fields in your bedroom environment.
Any recommendations on the brands for EMF shielding clothing?
www.lessemf.com is where I usually by mine (hat, t-shirt and boxers).
@Max — what Dave said. Lessemf.com is a great resource.
Some brands I’m testing at the moment include Faraday’s boxers, Spartan boxers, and a Shield Headwear hat.
