In the beginning of my article “Shooting Up Stem Cells“, you see a video of me grunting, groaning and pushing against a special machine designed to quickly exhaust the muscles and allow for extremely efficient and effective “single set to failure” training.
Since then, I've mentioned this “special machine” in multiple podcasts, and I've finally managed to get the inventor onto my show…
The machine is called a “PeakFitPro” and the man who designed it is Dr. Chris Montanaro DC, DIBAK, DCBCN. Dr. Chris is a chiropractor and a Diplomate in AK and a Diplomate in Nutrition. He teaches certification courses to doctors of various disciplines including doctors of chiropractic, medicine, naturopathy, and homeopathy. Dr. Chris is also a member of the adjunct faculty of New York Chiropractic College & Palmer Chiropractic College in Florida. Dr. Chris is also an Advanced Theta Healing practitioner.
During our discussion, you'll discover:
-How Tony Robbins and Pete Sisco got Chris interested in extreme efficiency in isometric training… 9:30
-The fascinating research behind “single set to failure” training, and how it actually works… 16:00
-How to do a “pull” workout and “push” workout using the PeakFitPro… 21:30
-How much time under tension is necessary to get the most out of isometric training… 24:45
-What's happening physiologically during isometric training that elicits such fast results… 34:00
-Whether there are any cardiovascular or endurance benefits to this style of training… 36:00
-Whether you need to do full range lifts, especially to maintain athleticism… 39:30
-Whether you can put on muscle or size or lose fat with this style of training… 44:30
-What is so special about the technology built into the PeakFitPro machine and app combo… 50:45
And much more!

I’m wondering if there is a joint angle and/or muscle length that is of more benefit for these isometric contractions?
How “seems” like PeakFitPro is like a “home” version of Osteostrong? I mean don’t both of those machines work in a similar way to gain bone density?
Hi Ben, Great podcast! Two questions – 1. Do you know of any bodyweight isometric protocols or techniques that would mimic the exercise methodology in PeakFitPro? 2. Which isometric protocols are most effective with reducing high blood pressure, thanks, John r
John, Although body weight isometrics can be accomplished, there is no way to mimic maximum loads with just body weight alone to stimulate the type of muscle growth you can with the PeakFitPro and also be able to measure objectively the result and be able to predict progressive overload and the true results people are looking for. With sub-maximal efforts, there simply is not the sufficient stimulation to make the body want to adapt and make the major improvements people would be looking for.
As far as reducing blood pressure, it's well established in the medical literature that exercise in general is effective at improving cardiac markers and lowering blood pressure. The most effective use of the PeakFitPro to lower blood pressure would be to follow the 10 exercise program that will work every major muscle group in the body and have a full body effect on health.
You mentioned doing a full range exercise immediately after doing the corresponding iso exercise
Didn’t you have a guest a few years ago who advocated a series of movements similarly?
Think it was one slow rep, then an explosive move, then the iso.
I think it was touted as a neurological type of workout
Yes, I have a few podcasts on this type of exercise. Could have been this one… https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/transcripts/tran…
I had been honored to obtain a call from a friend as soon as he found out the important ideas shared on your site.
Examining your blog posting is a real brilliant experience.
Thanks again for thinking of readers just like me, and I would like for you the best of achievements

Have to admit I’m disappointed when I hear something on a podcast but the price immediately kills any hope of trying to implement….
Take a look at the Isochain. Looks like it can do most of the same stuff but for under $500. Not super-cheap, but better than $6’500.
Does the X3 work on the same principal?
NO. Apples and oranges. X3 is more isokinetic, portable training solution.
