New Discoveries Of The Week: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!
-Cool website – Optimize.me: One of the ways I get through the world's best books f-a-s-t is the fantastic app/website called “Optimize“. What is Optimize? It's simple, really. The good folks at Optimize read every one of the best books (primarily focusing on health, wealth, self-improvement, neuroscience, fitness, business, nutrition, lifestyle and philosophy) and then summarize these books in easy-to-digest, 20 minute audio .mp3's or very short 5-6 page .pdf's with the biggest ideas, summaries and most important takeaways. So in less than 6 months, I easily made it through the 400+ books on their site, often while I was hoisting dumbbells, walking in the sunshine, or driving in my car. -Toy – Underwater mp3 player: If you're like me, you get BORED or you want to get educated or stay entertained when doing things like taking cold showers, swimming for long periods of time, sitting in hot tubs, and even surfing or paddleboarding. Problem is, most underwater .mp3 players don't also function well on land because they do things like conduct the sound through the bones in your head, which sounds crappy if you're, say, running on the beach after swimming in the ocean. That, or they fall off because they were designed to be strapped to goggles. For a simple, no-frills, no-dirty electricity solution I can use on water or land with none of these hassles, you'll always see me with a waterproofed iPod shuffle. It syncs to iTunes, it has a warranty, and it just *works* for my very minimalist audio desires. You can get a waterproofed iPod shuffle here on Amazon for a pretty good deal.
-Beauty Trick – Alitura Clay Mask: I never thought I'd be a skincare man diva, but I'll admit: in addition to using the Kion Anti-Aging Skin Serum in the morning and evening, I give myself a clay facial mask one time per week and my skin (at the risk of sounding like a cheesy commercial) really does look far more glowing and radiant afterwards, not to mention this act of self-love just leaves me feeling amazing. Hey Ben , at What tome of the day you think carbs should be aded in the day for somebody who is pretty much insulin resistance ( i think i am, 15,5% of body far and 85kg, quite an endommorph, is hard for me yo loose pounds of fat) . Im consuming no more than 80gr of carbs for the last year. Do you think carbs intake in Summer should be the same that in winter? Cheers ben
