My Latest Fascinating Discoveries: Cool New Things I'm Trying, Books I'm Reading, And More!

Why Your Feet Probably Suck (& What To Do About It)

What does your foot care routine look like lately?

If your answer is, “Um…what foot care routine?”, or you are wondering if I'm referring to pedicures, then you may want to think beyond just making sure you have sightly toenails and a good pair of sneakers.

After all, you use your feet to move you wherever you go, all day long. And if you're active like me, they're probably taking even more of a pounding. Yet foot health is often taken for granted: that is, until your feet start to hurt.

Plenty of my friends have dealt with foot problems such as plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, bunions and more, preventing them from doing the activities they love and really from just getting around at all without annoying pain. Since I personally don't like being slowed down by my feet, I have several products on hand (pun intended, I suppose) to keep my feet in tip-top shape. My favorites are the duo insoles, recovery socks, Neuro Ball, and Splay toe spacers from a company called Naboso. (Check out my podcast with Dr. Emily Splichal from Naboso here to learn more about the concept behind Naboso and “movement longevity.”)

The enhanced foot “feel” of the duo insoles is great for activities like walking and pickleball (my new favorite sport – listen here for more!), and I've been using the toe spacers while standing at my desk during the day, along with rolling on the Neuro Ball for better proprioception. The recovery socks are addictively comfortable and stimulating at the same time. I also have their proprioception-enhancing mat in my sauna. If you suffer from foot pain or want to prevent it, I highly recommend adding foot recovery tools to your wellness arsenal. Your feet will thank you.

My New Parenting Book Is Available To Pre-Order Now

It's officially done.

That is, I just put the finishing touches on my brand new parenting book – which covers and decodes everything from education to baby nutrition to discipline to legacy to finances to college and much, much more!

It's called…drumroll please…

Boundless Parenting: Tools, Tactics & Habits of Great Parents.

This book isn't just written by me and my superstar wife Jessa. Rather, I put together a dream list of amazing and inspirational parents who I admire and asked them to share their best-of-the-best tools, tactics and habits for raising incredible children in this modern world.

Part of my motivation to create this anthology of parenting wisdom was my own wish to know “all the answers” before I became a parent. I would have loved to have had the perfect parenting blueprint. Unfortunately, when Jessa and I were young parents, there was no step-by-step instruction guide that existed for how to raise impactful, happy, and fulfilled young humans – so we, along with most parents, walked into this life-altering journey without a blueprint.

But now it exists. Why try to go on this parenting journey alone and make time-wasting and life-changing mistakes when parents who have come before you can share with you all their insider secrets?

So now Boundless Parenting is here…I couldn't be more excited, and guess what? Pre-orders are LIVE right now! Head over to BoundlessParentingBook.com to learn more and sign-up for pre-order notifications.

Product Of The Week:

::: Save Big On Glucose Monitoring :::

Monitoring your glucose levels is, hands down, one of the best ways to understand how your food and lifestyle choices are affecting your health.

I’ve personally discovered some pretty crazy things via my own blood glucose monitoring…

… like how cold showers are one of the best things to do before I go to a steakhouse…

…why green beans are actually bad for me but good for other people…

…how checking email the wrong way can make me metabolically “sicker“…

… and a whole lot more that I would never have known unless I actually had a peek inside my body‘s blood glucose levels.

See, we now know that poor glucose levels are one of the leading factors in many diseases including obesity, sexual dysfunction, diabetes, Alzheimer's, heart disease, stroke, and more.

However, the traditional route of pricking your finger with a tiny needle multiple times a day is not only uncomfortable and inconvenient, but it also only gives you a small snapshot in time of your blood glucose—you're simply not getting a full picture of how your body is responding to sleep, exercise, or stress throughout the day.

That's where a company called Levels comes in.

Levels makes it effortless for me to understand in real-time whether the foods I’m eating or anything else I’m doing has a positive or negative effect on my health, energy, sleep, waistline, or anything else that is intimately related to blood sugar.

Basically, the Levels Membership provides unparalleled access to continuous glucose monitoring, at-home blood testing, and expert coaching to help members improve their health and metabolic fitness.

Levels also has an app that interprets your data for you, scores your meal and lifestyle choices, and allows you to run experiments across different inputs like diet, exercise, and recovery techniques. As a self-proclaimed tech geek, I appreciate that the Levels app goes way beyond most companion apps for CGMs.

In the short term, I’m optimizing for energy levels during the day, mental clarity, and controlling my weight. In the long term, I’m considering the many chronic diseases that are directly linked to glucose control including diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer's.

Until I was a Levels member, I thought I understood my metabolic health pretty well. I definitely didn't expect steak and green beans to be on the list of foods that spike my blood sugar…but they were. That’s because your body's glucose response to food is highly individual, so there's no way to know until you test.

Heck, I haven’t discovered that if I do slow and easy breathing while checking emails versus giving myself “email Apnea” by holding my breath while checking emails actually has a profound impact on my blood glucose levels and post-email-checking energy.

So if you're in the market for “leveling” up your health game, click here to check out Levels—and for a limited time, Levels is offering my audience 2 additional free months on your annual Levels Membership when you use my link.
