-New Breathwork Protocol For Deep Relaxation

I recently had a whirlwind tour of Cairo and Dubai, where I spoke on biohacking, anti-aging, fitness, recovery, sleep, and much more. On my long flight home (a 6-hour flight, Dubai to Amsterdam, and a 10-hour flight, Amsterdam to Seattle), I experimented with a new relaxation and sleep breathwork protocol designed by my friend “The Renegade Pharmacist” Niraj Naik, who I first interviewed here.

The relaxation routine is based on something very similar to the “4-8” breathwork pattern that Dr. Andrew Weil and I discussed when I interviewed him here. It was, in a word, incredible to have a choreographed breathwork routine for sleep and relaxation, along with some deep relaxation music created by Niraj to experiment with on the plane, and it worked like a charm to knock me out on both flights. Hanging upside down like a bat may not seem like a stress-relieving or relaxing activity, but I personally hang from a yoga trapeze for about 5-10 minutes several times per week, especially after a long bike ride or run, and the “drainage” effect is amazing. Heavy, swollen feet and legs almost instantly become lighter and less swollen—and the inversion effect even works nicely after a long day of standing workstation use. Inversion has been shown to assist with lymph fluid circulation, back pain, blood flow and circulation, and spinal or hip misalignment from high impact workouts.⁣⁣Of course, you don’t have to have an inversion table or yoga trapeze to invert.     Great stuff Ben, Im super thankful that you provide us with such dense and thorough material to better ourselves. Ive been following you for a long time now. Ive really wanted to do a one on one consult with you. However, Im a firefighter in Boise and I do as much as I can do, but cant really afford much of what you offer, along with many of products you promote, joovv lights, supplements, oura rings, air purifiers ext. Moreover, given my profession there are many thing I cant avoid, and some routines I cant be 100% with, my sleep schedule is terrible on duty, are endocrine system is all over the place and we are exposed to harsh carcinogens in fires.That being said this comment may not be appropriate for this post, but i really would love to understand what areas of my life should i place the most emphasis, time and money. Whether is be reducing emf exposure or air quality, diet, fasting, exercise, meditation, light therapy, grounding etc whats the ‘big ones’ in your mind? Im not an athlete, I just simply want to live life well, healthy and happy, while reducing my chances of cancer and disease. Also, ive working on material to help other firefighters in my department with same goal. I would love to here from you! Thanks for reading!

    1. A lot of the things you mention don't require any money at all (reducing EMF exposure, exercise, fasting, meditation, grounding) so there's no reason to pick some and leave out others.
