Own the Day, Own Your Life: Optimized Practices or Waking, Working, Learning, Eating, Training, Playing, Sleeping, and Sex

Human optimization thought leader Aubrey Marcus’s personal and professional mission rests on a single question: How can we get the most out of our body and mind on a daily basis?

He answers that question in the new book Own the Day, Own Your Life – an empowering handbook that guides readers to optimize every moment of the day, from waking in the morning, through work and play, until bedtime each night. With small, actionable changes implemented throughout the course of one day, we can feel better, perform more efficiently, and live happier. And these daily habits turn into weekly routines, ultimately becoming part of lifelong healthy choices.

From workouts and diet to inbox triage, mindfulness, shower temperature, and sex, this ground-breaking manual provides simple strategies for each element of your day. Drawing from the latest studies and traditional practices from around the world, Own the Day, Own Your Life delivers an optimization philosophy, including cutting-edge life-hacking tips, nutritional expertise, brain upgrades, and fitness regiments.

Own the Day, Own Your Life is a must-have “choose-your-own-adventure” guide for the everyman and everywoman—packed with pragmatic and effective strategies that empower you to enjoy your life, take charge of your health, and own the day.

  1. 1) The Coconut Probiotic (New Earth Superfoods) is absolutely amazing and helping my wife with her colitis. Thank you and Aubrey!
    2) Do you know the name of the specific strain of probiotic that Aubrey also uses that helps with colitis? I couldn’t find it again in the podcast.

  2. Hey Ben,

Couple questions/concerns about those nicotine tooth picks.

    1. Seems like there are alot of other chemicals in them. Do they all check out as natural/healthy? I assume you’ve already done the research so I was hoping to save time

    2. Looks like all of these toothpicks 3mg. Seems like alot for someone who’s just starting/not trying to get addicted. Would you recommend cutting them up in thirds so I only get 1mg at a time? Also, how long do they usually last? Not seeing alot of info out there about dosing for the nootropic effect.

    1. I don't necessarily profess them to be 100% healthy, and yes, you can use them as 1/3-2/3 at a time rather than the whole thing. I only really use them about once every 3-4 days with a cup of coffee. Not "perfectly healthy" but a good pick me up.

      1. A company called pixotine offers toothpicks with no artificial sweeteners if your interested. The only ingredients in the original flavor are nicotine and vegetable glycerin. Unfortunately thought they aren’t on amazon, but they ship pretty quickly.

  3. Ben, I’d love to take a look at some of the research that drove you to use the nicotine toothpicks. Any links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all that you do.

  4. Hey! I know another awesome coconut yogurt that is also available at Erewhon. The brand is Living Cultures- http://livingculturessuperfoods.com
They were one of the first on the market. A couple from Santa Cruz makes these in small batches and sells a few places in CA. They really know their stuff!

  5. Hi Ben

would you please name 3 or more cool to live in neighborhoods in Spokane?

    Cheers from Reykjavik

    Þakka þér fyrir, Halldór.

  6. hmmm not sure why you’re promoting Kegenix. ingredient list on their Keto meal sounds like pure garbage*. also the first review i found does not recommend it at all

    https://consumerscompare.org/kegenix-review/

*Sunflower oil, whey protein isolate, medium chain triglycerides, sodium caseinate, natural vanilla flavor, sodium beta-hydroxybutyrate, potassium beta-hydroxybutyrate, calcium hydroxybutyrate, magnesium hydroxybutyrate, guar gum, salt, sunflower lecithin, organic rebaudioside A, Vitamin and Mineral Blend, chelate, ascorbic acid, d-alpha-tocopheryl, acetate, sodium molydbate, zinc oxide, retinyl palmitate, niacinamide, chromium chloride, manganese sulfate, phytonadione, sodium selenite, D-calcium pantothenate, cyanocobalamin, ergocalciferol, folic acid, biotin, pyridoxine HCI, organic glucosylated steviol glycosides, silica, milk, and thiamin mononitrate.

  7. The fist time I heard that Aubrey wrote a book I was so sure it would be a giant commercial for onnit products ( not that there is anything wrong with that’)
I was pleasantly surprised that he left products out and good info in.
    As alway Ben great interview!

  8. Ben u totally cracked me up!!!???????? when u asked ur friend if he stares at ppl with wide angle pupil ????????????
