JJ Virgin is one intimidating, yet amazing, woman.
Seriously.
I've had a chance to hang with JJ on numerous occasions over the past several years, and, at over 6 feet tall, strikingly beautiful, fit, muscular and with a sharp, keen intelligence and wit, she's one of those women who probably would have been a queen or, perhaps, an Amazonian warrior were she born at some other time in history.
But, in fact, JJ is actually a celebrity nutrition and fitness expert and author of 4 New York Times bestselling books: The Virgin Diet, The Virgin Diet Cookbook, JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet, and JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet Cookbook.
But her recent memoir, Miracle Mindset: A Mother, Her Son, and Life’s Hardest Lessons, in which she explores the powerful lessons in strength and positivity that she learned after her son Grant was the victim of a brutal hit-and-run accident, is perhaps the most meaningful and life-changing of all her titles.
One of my biggest takeaways from the book was the enormous number of frustrations that JJ encountered while attempting to navigate the modern medical system, and to keep her son from dying, not recovering properly, or being seriously harmed by modern medicine, along with her extreme willingness and stubbornness in incorporating every aspect of alternative health and natural medicine into a modern hospital setting…with shocking results.
If you want to be fully equipped to deal with any trauma that might land you in a modern hospital industry or having to deal with close-minded physicians and caretakers, this podcast is a must-listen for you.
During our discussion, you'll discover:
-The shocking story of the hit-and-run with Grant…[8:50]
-The biggest frustrations JJ ran into at the hospital, and with Grant's physicians and nurses…[19:05]
-How JJ got 10-20 grams of fish oil each day into Grant…[25:10]

–The advanced biohack therapies JJ has used in combination with physical therapy, from ping pong to earthing, grounding, gardening, neurofeedback and more…[59:20]
-For people who wind up being in the modern medical system having to deal with the trauma, where you can find the biggest pieces of advice from JJ…[64:55]
-And much more!

I talked about this before on the podcasts… A bad fish oil is worse than taking no fish oil at all but a good fish oil has proven benefits from research.
Hello Ben, in regards to the fish oil benefiting the brain, could you also take the EnergyBits which you talked about in the Arnston podcast as being the source of the fish oil? Thinking about you comment about taking rancid fish oil is as bad as not taking any fish oil and thinking EnergyBits would be an easier find than a solid fish oil.
Thanks for the feedback!
What fish oil product would you recommend for an 18-month-old? Thanks
Good interview Ben. Thank you. The link for your interview with Dr. Kirk Parsley goes to another interview. Tried search engine and it didn’t go there either. I wanted to hear further on brain injury solutions.
Regards,
Rene.

During the podcast you spoke about KD Pharma fish oil. I did some research and they appear to be a source but don’t sell to consumers. What fish oil do you recommend purchasing and where can it be found? Thank you

Listening to this podcast…amazing!!…but it cut out in the middle and switched to the interview with Shaq. How do I listen to the second half?
Thanks!
Can you try it again? Might be jumping podcast on your phone?? Not sure… keep us posted!!
The same thing happened to me, halfway in Shaq appeared and I’m listening to another podcast altogether.
Wonderful! Powerful encounter.
Hi Ben, great stuff as usual. Confused by the Natureblendcbd product. How can it increase alertness during day, but act as a sleep aid at night? I get the lemon, magnesium, cbd = sleep. But ashwaganda = stimulant????
Desparate to find a cure for insomnia, tried Dr Parsleys, too much magnesium citrate, nearly crapped myself.
Hope you can clarify
cheers Andy
It is a situation in which SMALL doses of it during day decrease stress enough to improve focus whereas LARGER doses at night decrease stress enough to induce sleep. I personally do 1-2 during day, then 3-4 at night, along with 1 packet of sleep remedy.
