Tricks To Get Rid Of Allergies Fast…33:20

A.J. asks: I'm a professional golfer and I've suffered from seasonal allergies my whole life, and they've been getting worse for the last 5-6 years. I've had tests done and I'm allergic to just about every type of grass and trees. I've tried just about everything and nothing seems to be working. Got any suggestions?

When To Eat Carbs For A Morning Workout…50:10

Lucas asks: You recommend two nutrition tactics: saving your carb intake for the evening, and intermittent fasting with a long fasting window in the morning. How would your recommendations change for someone doing high-intensity Metcon's first thing in the morning around 5 am. Especially if this person is not looking to optimize for fat loss, but for performance and overall fitness.

How To Rapidly Support Recovery For A Broken Bone…58:28

Nate asks: I recently had a motorbike accident where I broke my collarbone. I had surgery to insert a stainless steel plate and screws to help support the alignment during the healing process. I'm curious if there are any biohacking techniques or strategies I can use that would help expedite the healing process, but also to make it more complete with the bone mineralization and density.

  1. Oliver Lemmings says:

    Hi Ben,

Been loving all your insights so I appreciate you!

I’m currently doing a carb backloading diet much like you recommend, as well as a 14-15 hour intermittent fast.
I’m doing a 30 min run fasted in the morning at about 140-150bmp and then I do a high intensity strength session around 4pm.

I’m currently saving my carbs until 6pm however I was wondering if I should consume some carbs post workout after my fasted Run in the morning? Was thinking some oats?

    Thanks

    Oliver

  2. David says:

Why do you keep promoting carbs at night when insulin lowers melatonin

  3. Becki says:

Is it effective to take the baking soda on its own without the vitamin C?

  4. Carol says:

Ben, I have a question: If using Podcast: When to Eat Carbs and Carb Nite Solution by John Kiefer as a guide:
Following my 5 AM workout, I usually have a Carrot juice-based smoothie with veggies, avocado, yogurt, supplements, etc. . . I would like to drink that later in the day/evening. What would you recommend following my AM workout? Also, what, besides KION Aminos would you recommend for light-headedness during this sometimes “tough” AM workout?
    Thanks, as always,
    C

  5. Bobo says:

what is the methylene blue you mentioned using, not the troche but the stand-alone solution?

    1. Ward says:

I’m guessing he is not going to reveal that since he gets paid if you by the troches…

    2. Rita Mastrovito says:

A year or two ago he did a podcast with the guy from this site https://mitolab.com/. That’s where I get my mitoblue, not sure if that’s where Ben still does.

  6. Brad says:

If you do not wish to pay a high price for medicinal mushroom products, the plain old grocery store mushroom has great immunity and other health benefits. Plus they taste great, are inexpensive, and you can eat them every day.

Did you know that the plain white mushroom in the grocery store has a similar amount of beta glucans as the chaga mushroom? Some immunity related studies for your consideration:

“What’s more, the common white button mushroom had stronger immune-boosting effects than more exotic — and more expensive — fungi such as oyster and shiitake mushrooms, Dr. Keith Martin of Arizona State University in Mesa and his colleagues found.”

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mushrooms-immunity/mushrooms-strengthen-immunity-mouse-study-idUSTRE52472420090305

“Scientists have conducted an animal-model and cell-culture study showing that white button mushrooms enhanced the activity of critical cells in the body’s immune system. Mushrooms are among the many foods thought to play an important role in keeping the immune system healthy”

Button Mushrooms Contain As Much Anti-oxidants As Expensive Ones:

There are so many other health benefits to your standard grocery store mushroom. These benefits often do not get publicized because there is not much money to be made in pushing grocery store mushrooms.
